Fire Department, White Plains Volunteer Fire Department, Charleston Volunteer
Fire Department, Earlington Fire Department, Hanson Volunteer Fire Department,
Inc., Manitou Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., Nebo Fire Dept., Richland Volunteer
Fire Department, St Charles Vol Fire Dept., and the Elmere Fire Protection District
in Webster County. The Madisonville Fire Department is currently comprised of
4 stations, 60 firefighters and one employee.
The Elsmere Fire Protection District is
located in the city of Elsmere in Webster County. This Fire Department was formed
in 1899. There was no equipment at the time and the Firefighters relied on each
other to pass bucket of water from one fireman to another from the nearest cistern.
Today, the Elsmere Fire Protection District has numerous pieces of equipment
such as Engine 401, Engine 402, Ambulance 415, Utility 421, Car 425, Car 426,
and Car 422. The staff provides fire protection emergency Medical Services,
and training. Trainings programs include R.I.T. Training, EMS, R.I.T. Training,
Salvage and Overhaul, Safety / Communications, CRP or first aid training, Forcible
Entry, and Arson. The Elsmere Fire Protection District Fire District's insurance
rating classified as four.
