Hopkins County Libraries are the Dawson Springs Branch Library and the Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library.

Hopkins County Madisonville Public Library
was first opened in 1921 in the back of Miss Georgia Bishop's shop on the corner of South Main and Bishop Street. Today the library’s has over 37,000 library card holders, 85,000 books and an annual circulation of over 200,000. Their collection consist of Audio, Visual Equipment, DVD/VHS Rentals, Magazines, Newspapers, and Audio Books/Music. Currently, there are approximately 65 books on CD and 800 audios available. Over 120 magazines and newspapers available for reading and research.

The Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library offers free classes in the following areas: Basic Computer, Beginning Internet, Intermediate Internet, Beginning Digital Photography, Intermediate Digital Photography, Advanced Digital Photography, Microsoft Word, Searching The Internet, Email, and Finding Employment On The Web. All the computers at this library have black & white and color printing options. Photo copiers, faxing machines and Lamination services are also available.
