The Muhlenberg County Humane Society was opened in in 1985 and operates as a independent, non-profit agency. The Muhlenberg County Humane Society provides a clean comfortable shelter for lost, abused and stray animals of the county and surrounding areas. Their mission is to place these potential pets into loving and responsible homes. The animals that are not adopted are humanely euthanize. Muhlenberg County Humane Society investigates complaints of animal abuse/neglect and educates the public about the importance of spay/neuter.
